Oil gauge failure? The main reason is the oil level sensor to blame

Symptom 1: The scale of the oil gauge is fast and slow

Specific realization: the oil meter scale display is fast and slow.

Analysis: this kind of oil meter failure phenomenon is more common. Under normal circumstances, the fuel gauge of many models in the first half will drop more slowly, and after passing the middle scale, it will drop faster. This is mainly related to the design of the oil pump used to reflect the amount of oil. It cannot evenly reflect the change in gasoline consumption. After all, this absolute constant speed change is difficult to achieve, and it is not easy to change through maintenance and replacement of parts.

Symptom two: the scale of the oil gauge suddenly drops to zero

Specific performance: I clearly saw two more squares on the way, but after driving for a distance, it dropped directly to zero.

Analysis: The indication of the oil gauge depends almost entirely on the oil level sensor, so the oil gauge pointer is actually just an intuitive expression of the oil level sensor. If this kind of problem occurs, it means that there is a problem with the vehicle's oil level sensor. Generally due to the oil level sensor stains, need to be cleaned in time. Because the gasoline contains a lot of impurities, and the oil level sensor has been immersed in it, it will be contaminated after a long time, which directly affects the accuracy of the indication. If the vehicle has been used for more than 5 years and the fuel gauge indication is inaccurate, it is likely that the fuel level sensor has been physically worn and cannot continue to work normally.

Symptom three: oil scale rise

Specific performance: the pointer of the oil gauge has been staying in a certain position, and some even after driving for a certain distance, the scale display value has actually increased.

Analysis: The main reason for this situation is that the connecting rod between the oil level sensor and the float is stuck, so that the float cannot float up and down normally, resulting in no change in the sensor, so the oil gauge pointer is fixed at a certain position.
